Governor William Bradford (1590-1657), was one of the most prominent figures on the Mayflower Voyage to the "New World." He and his fellow Europeans had the difficult task of establishing a relationship with the Native Americans who were already inhabiting the land, namely Massasoit and Squanto from the Wampanoag tribe.

This article examines the European settlers' relationship with the Wampanoag once they arrived in the "New World" and how this relationship became strained over time.

Jefferson Davis (1808-1889), was the President of the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. Over the last century, the legacy of Jefferson Davis and the Confederacy as a whole, have become even more scrutinized due to their actions during the nineteenth century.

This article examines the historiography of Jefferson Davis and how his decisions still impact us today, for better, or for worse. This article neither praises, nor condemns the man or his actions. Though, it can help to understand why he made some of the decisions he did and how they still influence Americans today.
